It is our mission to practice medicine in an ethical and professional manner at all times, where the advice given is always in the best interest of the patient.

JaniceDr. Andrew Blauvelt, a board-certified dermatologist, is a nationally recognized expert in caring for patients with psoriasis. He received his undergraduate degree at Purdue University and his medical degree at Michigan State University. Dr. Blauvelt then went on to train in dermatology at the University of Miami and in immunology and virology research at the National Institutes of Health (NIH). He has held staff positions at the NIH and more recently as Professor of Dermatology at Oregon Health & Science University (OHSU) and Chief of the Dermatology Service at the Portland VA Medical Center. Dr. Blauvelt has performed cutting-edge research on psoriasis and infectious diseases, and is a popular speaker and consultant on these topics. In addition to practicing general dermatology at Klein Dermatology & Associates, Dr. Blauvelt performs clinical studies at the Oregon Medical Research Center, teaches dermatology to residents as an Affiliate Professor at OHSU, and is an MBA student. Outside of work, he enjoys travelling with his wife and family, watching movies, reading books, working out, and playing golf.

JaniceJanice T. Chussil, A.N.P. is an accomplished nurse practitioner who obtained her masters degree in nursing from Simmons College in Boston in 1981, and trained in dermatology at Harvard affiliated Beth Israel Hospital.

She moved to Portland in 1990 with her special interests in general medical dermatology and sclerotherapy. She sees teenage and adult patients.

Janice is a past president of the national Dermatology Nurses' Association (DNA), and in 2007 was the chair of the Nurse Practitioner section of the DNA.

When she is not looking at skin, she enjoys her daily workouts, bicycling, golfing and baton twirling.

Tim CarrascoTim Carrasco, P.A.-C., M.B.A is a physician assistant. He spent the first ten years of his career in corporate finance and accounting, and earned a MBA from Santa Clara University in 1992. In 2000, he earned a Master of Science in Physician Assistant Studies from Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, Texas. He has been practicing as a Certified Physician Assistant since 2001.

Tim has a strong interest in dermatology and enjoys seeing patients of all ages. He has been an integral part of the team of Klein Dermatology and Associates since 2003.

In his personal life, Tim enjoys spending time with family and friends, fly fishing and golfing. He participates in many golf tournaments.

Tim CarrascoMichelle Walsh, R.N. is a Registered Nurse. She earned a B.S. in Agriculture in 1984, and completed her nursing degree in 1992, in Miami. She has experience in medical surgical pre and post operative recovery, as well as in cardiac rehabilitation.

She has worked in dermatology since 2002; she spent a couple of years with Drs. Matheson and Miller doing dermatology research before coming to Klein Dermatology and Associates in 2005.

Michelle's duties include Botox, Juvederm, laser hair removal, and vascular laser treatments. She has been trained and certified by the Candela company in the use of the lasers. She has been personally trained by Dr. Klein in the fine points of Botox and Juvederm administration.

A nurturing soul, she is a master gardener and clinician. Her interests in her spare time include travel, gardening, movies and reading.

Tim CarrascoMarcia Mullens, L.P.N. has been working in the field of dermatology for over twenty years. She attended nursing school in upstate New York. Marcia works directly with Dr. Klein, assisting with surgery and office procedures. She assists with cosmetic consultations, helping patients determine the right treatments to fit their needs. Other duties include performing microdermabrasions, chemical peels and hair removal laser treatments.

She is a member of Racewalkers Northwest, does volunteer work for the American Diabetes Association and enjoys golfing and gardening.

Tim CarrascoSue Taylor, R.N. is certified by the Dermatology Nursing Association. She has been a dermatology triage nurse since 1995. She spends her days responding to patient phone calls, administering narrow band UVB and PUVA phototherapy treatments for psoriasis patients, and assisting the mid-level providers. She is the CLIA officer for the clinic.

In her spare time Sue makes scented candles and enjoys watching films.

Tim CarrascoRamon Santos, M.A. has been our medical assistant since 2006. His duties include assisting the providers with initial history intake, preparing patients for small procedures, lab duties, narrowband UVB treatments, Photodynamic Therapy treatments, and phone call triage. He is also the OSHA officer for the clinic.

In his spare time, Ramon enjoys work outs at the gym, plays basketball, and spends time with his wife, daughter, and son.

Tim CarrascoMaggie, RN. is a registered nurse. She is a Portland native and graduated from the University of Oregon in journalism and business in 2002.

Shortly after graduating from U of O, Maggie decided to go back to school to pursue a career in nursing. She has experience in psychiatric, cosmetic and dermatological nursing.

Her duties at Klein Dermatology & Associates are varied and include assisting providers with office procedures and surgeries, as well as performing labs.

Maggie has been personally trained by Dr. Klein to administer BOTOX™, as well as to do microdermabrasion, StarLux IPL, Iridex diolite vascular laser, Accent radiofrequency treatments, hair removal laser treatments and Vitalize chemical peels.

She enjoys helping patients feel better about themselves and to feel more confident.

In her spare time, Maggie enjoys outdoor activities, travel, films and reading.
